On the afternoon of July 23, in Vung Tau Ward, Ho Chi Minh City, PetroVietnam Drilling and Well Services Corporation (PV Drilling) successfully organized the 1st Internal HSEQ & ESG Workshop of 2026.

The workshop was attended by Mr. Dinh Quang Nhut – Vice President in charge of HSEQ & ESG, leaders of member units, representatives from the Human Resources & Training Department, HR-Admin Departments of member units, production bases, along with HSEQ and ESG personnel across the Corporation.

Reports presented at the workshop highlighted positive HSEQ results in the first half of 2026, ensuring safe, stable, and efficient business operations. All rigs maintained safe operations. Notably, on February 28, 2026, PV DRILLING VI achieved 11 consecutive years of Zero LTI (Lost Time Incident), recognized by the International Association of Drilling Contractors (IADC). During the same period, PV DRILLING VI was awarded “Best Performance Rig” by customer PCSB at the Wells Business Partners HSE Engagement 2026 event.

Another key milestone was reached on June 12, 2026, when PV Drilling’s Drilling Division Branch was granted the Quality Management System certification conforming to API Spec Q2, 2nd Edition by the American Petroleum Institute (API) for "Management and operation of offshore drilling rigs". Achieving the API Spec Q2 certification affirms PV Drilling’s capacity to manage and operate rigs in compliance with international standards, enhancing service reputation and competitive advantage in domestic and international drilling markets.

HSEQ indicators remained positive, reflecting full compliance with applicable regulations and standards across the Corporation. HSEQ performance was further strengthened through improvement programs, enhanced risk identification and control, and active employee engagement in incident prevention.

In H1 2026, PV Drilling recorded over 3 million working hours, a 28% increase year-on-year, with the rig fleet segment increasing by 31%. This growth mainly stemmed from fleet expansion, including PV DRILLING VIII (operational since early September 2025) and PV DRILLING IX (operational since early April 2026).

PV Drilling implemented several initiatives to modernize the HSEQ Management System. Management procedures were updated, and data digitization was accelerated to support better monitoring, analysis, and decision-making. Training, experience sharing, and risk management practices were intensified to elevate professional competence, risk awareness, and safety culture across the Corporation.

Delegates actively shared lessons learned in incident prevention, hazard control, and solutions to boost safety and operational efficiency. Beside HSEQ, the workshop discussed further integrating Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) factors into PV Drilling’s sustainable development strategy. ESG programs are aligned with corporate governance, environmental protection, energy efficiency, and workforce development to meet growing customer and international sustainability standards.

In his closing remarks, Vice President Dinh Quang Nhut praised the HSEQ & ESG teams for their continuous innovation and improvements. He emphasized that HSEQ remains one of PV Drilling’s core values. Unit leaders must demonstrate commitment to maintaining HSEQ excellence, while HSEQ personnel must stay vigilant and strictly prioritize safety above all.

Regarding ESG, the Vice President called for synchronized implementation across the Corporation, gradually embedding ESG into management and business operations. PV Drilling will continue investing in people, technology, and management systems to reinforce safety culture, strengthen risk governance, and achieve its sustainable development goals in the upcoming period.
